New Zealand Employment Change measures how the number of people in work changed from the previous quarter. It comes from the country's household labour force survey.
The report can influence expectations for RBNZ policy, especially when job growth differs sharply from forecasts. Traders also check hours worked, participation and the unemployment rate for a fuller picture.
Usual effect: An actual figure above the forecast is generally good for the New Zealand dollar; a figure below the forecast is generally bad for it.
